Individual weekly lesson lengths range from 15 to 60 minutes depending on the age and skill level of the student.  Group lessons range from 30 to 60 minutes and students are placed according to age and skill level.

1. Instrument - Each student will need an appropriately sized instrument. A limited number of used instruments are available for rental through CSEA at a discounted rate.

2. Music - Suzuki Violin Book 1 (with CD) or Suzuki Cello Book 1(with CD)

3. Accessories - Rosin, Shoulder Rest (for violin) , Rock stop (for cello)

The student's instructor will let parents know if any additional materials are needed.

There are no short cuts to learning to play a musical instrument. Learning music is a long-term endeavor that requires consistent effort.

Beginners: 15 minutes daily

Book 1 students: 30 minutes daily

Book 2 students and up: 45 minutes daily

Every child has the ability to learn music!

The determining factor to success, however, is consistency in the learning effort. Practice daily. The learning process progresses in stages, with peaks, valleys and plateaus. Be patient and persistent. Don't give up.
